A hacker imprisoned in the United States for stealing over 120,000 iPad users’ emails addresses has found a way around the system again, and is live-tweeting from inside prison.
Andrew Auernheimer – also known under the hacker name “Weev” – is currently being held in Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Centre – where mobile phones and internet access are prohibited for prisoners.
Nonetheless, Weev has managed to get online from within the prison walls, and revived his Twitter account on March 31, whereafter he has been live-tweeting his life in prison.
I am in Brooklyn MDC and not going to be able to receive non-legal visitors, but thanks for trying.

They still are not serving me gluten-free meals. I am actually literally starving. I have Celiac’s disease.

Am I the first person ever to livetweet my own federal criminal trial and prison term? I am surely an Internets pioneer.

In order to live-tweet, Weev has managed to exploit the Trust Fund Limited Computer System (TRULINCS), which allows limited access between inmates and certain external contacts regarding trust funds for prisoners.
No, I cannot access the general Internet. I can only send electronic messages through the TRULINCS system. cc @suqdiq
