Nokia has released the new cinemagraph digital camera for the Lumia range of smartphones.
Cinemagraph, according to Nokia, is “like a piece of Hollywood magic in your pocket” and enables users to animate pictures and share them on social media sites. The cinemagraph digital camera lens comes with extras such as object remover.
According to Nokia’s head of marketing for East Africa King’ori Gitahi, the phones are expected to be a hit with Kenyans due to their superior picture quality.
“Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710, 610 and 510 owners will be able enrich their pictures with
increased freedom and fun thanks to these amazing camera features first seen on our latest Windows Phone 8 Smartphones,” said King’ori.
Kingori adds that although the features are currently available in Lumia 900, 800 and 710 they will be available on the Nokia Lumia 610 and 510 in the coming weeks.
Nokia says the new features will come with the Windows 7.8 software update, asking users to stay watchful for the software alerts.
Apart from the Cinemagraph feature the Camera Extras app offers a self timer, action shot, panorama and smart shoot and uses burst mode to take a sequence of photos and choose from the best.
“With these UI improvements, it really feels more like the Smart Camera found in our Windows Phone 8 range. We hope our customers will enjoy these new features as we continue to bring new experiences for all Nokia Lumia owners,” he said.
Nokia launched its Lumia model in November last year with the Nokia Lumia 510 and has since introduced other models with partnership with Safaricom.
