Hours after assuming power, the self declared ‘Digital Team’ of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto have launched presidential Twitter and Facebook accounts and a new account for the presidential press service (PPS).
The @StateHouseKenya account, created yesterday morning, had 3,000 followers by today, including president Uhuru Kenyatta, while the Facebook page had just under 18,000 followers.
The audience could be attributed to Kenyatta’s own Tweet introducing the two accounts, where he asked his over 156,000 followers on Twitter and 486,500 followers on Facebook to follow.

On the State House Facebook page pictures of yesterday’s inauguration and after party, were posted, eliciting various opinions from followers.
On the Twitter page only two posts exist, including Kenyatta’s inaugural speech and a retweet of Deputy President’s post on his account.
