Microsoft’s new Xbox will include a feature which allows the next-generation console to take over a television and set-top box, according to a report.
The Verge quotes “multiple sources familiar with the company’s Xbox plans” as saying the new console will be able to be used in a similar way to Google TV.
HumanIPO reported earlier this week the new console is rumoured to be set for launch on May 21.
The report by The Verge claims the new Xbox will require an online connection in order to allow always-on access to entertainment services.
Alongside the television functionality, Microsoft’s Kinect will have the ability to detect multiple people simultaneously and detect eye movement in order to pause content when a viewer turns their head away.
