Microsoft is in the process of developing a smaller-sized tablet series to keep up with competitors.
Microsoft aims to challenge market leaders with mass production of its own 7-inch tablet later in 2013, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported today (Thursday).
Viewing the release of Google’s Nexus and Apple’s iPad Mini as competition, Microsoft aims to enter the increased smaller tablet market as it expands.
This strategic move follows a Gartner report earlier this month, forecasting the threat of tablet and smartphone increase posed to Microsoft, known for its PC production.
The company declined to comment further on its latest projects.
HumanIPO reported earlier today on Microsoft’s new Xbox, which is expected to launch in May.
