Zimbabwean publishing company Alpha Media Holdings (AMH) announced the launch of its Digital First strategy to boost digital publishing platforms at a workshop in Harare last week.
Kangai Maukazuva, newly appointed chief technology officer (CTO) at AMH, said the company hopes to use the strategy as a key part of its other digital releases, including mobile new services, social media and digital publishing platforms.
The Digital First strategy is also present on Twitter through a the hashtag #AMHDigitalFirst.
Maukazuva is the first CTO to be appointed by a media house in Zimbabwe,NewsDay reported today (Monday).
The workshop was aimed at the alleviation of online platforms as an enhanced publishing option for media companies.
The importance of collaborating with advertising agents who understand the operation of online platforms was emphasised as leading to enhanced consumer engagement.
A new product release was also announced at the workshop, hinting at AMH’s plan to move into the online classified advertising market.
AHM will also launch a new online publication called Southern Eye on June 3.
