HumanIPO managing editor Tom Jackson will be among the guest speakers at next week’s second annual Cloud World Forum Africa in Johannesburg.

Jackson will chair day two’s Enterprise Stream and introduce proceedings.

Jackson said: “Given the growth of mobile in Africa and the flood of innovative mobile solutions emanating from around the continent, cloud has extraordinary potential to transform the business environment in Africa, which is why this year’s Cloud World Forum Africa promises to play host to a wealth of exciting discussion and productive debate.

“All of the speakers are at the forefront of their field, paving the way for a very insightful and thought-provoking conference covering the myriad of issues surrounding cloud in the enterprise sector in Africa.”

Other highlights of day two include a talk by Ngoni Simelane, head of technology and innovation at Standard Bank, on cloud-based payments and a panel discussion entitled ‘How to get your board to approve your cloud plans’.

On the Telco side of the conference, day one will begin with Camille Mandler, principal analyst and head of enterprise at Informa TM, asking whether African telecoms are ready for cloud computing.

Day two of the Telco Stream will be chaired by Kim Andersen, an advisor at CxO Advisors, and begin with an overview of connectivity in Africa, by Edwin Thompson, general manager of infrastructure and technology, network group, enterprise, at MTN South Africa.
