Ghanaian ICT company Rlg Communications has stated it will release its own branded televisions sets and fridges over the course of this year.
The move will put the company in competition with foreign brands that have dominated the television and household gadget market.
The company is hoping to create over 2,000 jobs in the short term in the country, a number which it believes will increase as their market share expands.
As reported by the Chronicle newspaper, the chief executive officer of Rlg Communications Limited Roland Agambire’s quest is to create 1 million jobs for Ghanaian youths within a few years.
Rlg Communication is one of the most dynamic tech companies in Ghana, having spearheaded the construction of Hope City, Ghana’s tech hub.
The company also produces laptops, phones, tablets and television monitors for the regional market, and has training schools for ICT-related disciplines such as mobile repairs and assembling plants.
