Linkedin revamps app, launches smartphone ads

Corporate online community Linkedin has revamped its mobile apps, introducing adverts on smartphones as a test to elevate news content.

The company hopes to excel in its reputation with the new additions to subscribers’ update feed.

According to Julie Inouye, spokesperson at Linkedin, the newly added marketing in the news stream on mobiles is a “small test”.

The enhanced app was made available on both iOS and Android platforms for improved interaction via a smartphone.

LinkedIn users are now able to like, comment on or share news stories on mobile devices.

The app upgrade follows recent adjustments made to the website, which also acquired fresh features in the effort to decrease the bounce rate of its 200 million members.

HumanIPO reported last month on Linkedin’s search feature improvements.
