Oracle have released another wave of security updates in a bid to fix 42 vulnerabilities within Java.
HumanIPO reported earlier this month that Java-enabled web browsers were still vulnerable despite Oracle’s emergency release of updates, but Reuters has now reported another batch of upgrades.
Hasan Rizvi, Oracle executive vice president, said “the vast majority” of the most critical security flaws had been addressed by the latest improvements.
Browsers that run with the Java plug-in have been plagued by high profile hacks this year including Windows, Apple, Facebook and Twitter.
The situation became so bad in January it was even suggested by US-CERT (United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team) that users “disable Java in web browsers”.
