Samsung and AlwaysOn partnership goes live

South Africa’s Samsung mobile and tablet users are now able to access more than 1,000 AlwaysOn Wi-Fi hotspots across the country after the service went live this week.

The partnership was announced last month, and as of Monday any owner of a Samsung device bought after March 2010 can register to access 1GB of free data every month for the next year.

George Ferreira, vice president and chief operating officer at Samsung Electronics Africa, said: “This partnership with AlwaysOn enables us to provide our customers with a premier Wi-Fi access service that is designed to meet their mobile connectivity needs in what today is very much a digital age.

“Our customers are now able to gain additional value every month using the country-wide AlwaysOn network in conjunction with their 3G connections – by connecting via the AlwaysOn network.”

Samsung users can register by logging on to their nearest AlwaysOn hotspot.
