Airport.tv celebrates one year of operation

Airport.tv remains the only digital television network operating in all nine of South Africa’s Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) airports and is “surpassing expectations” following its launch a year ago.

“Airport.tv has surpassed all of our expectations in the first year of operation. Given its innovative capabilities and flexibility it keeps passengers entertained and informed, therefore making it easier for brands to communicate their message and, in turn, for passengers to recall brands, advertisers and key messages,” Bizcommunity quoted Mzi Deliwe, general manager of Airport Ads, as saying.

The target audience within the South African airport environment is mostly males with an average age of 39.

Sixty-one percent of these travel for business and 89 percent are described as household purchase decision makers.

Airport Insights and Research (AIR) is described as another first for airports in the country.

AIR was recently launched as a brand of Airport Ads and Airport.tv for focusing on researching the airport environment as well as presenting efficacy data and insight findings to advertisers.

Airport.tv broadcasts to more than two million passengers a month, offering advertisers an effective channel for marketing their goods or services.

“We’re celebrating Airport.tv’s first year and we look forward to many more as it is here to stay,” said Deliwe in conclusion.
