The 2013 edition of Mobile Web West Africa 2013 is officially underway in Lagos, beginning with its first ever Focus Day.
In his opening address Onyeka Akumah, vice president of Konga.com, spoke on “Understanding the opportunities within mobile marketing in West Africa and Nigeria in focus – here’s the justification”.
He spoke extensively on who is leveraging mobile marketing opportunities and lessons that experts could learn from the West African sub region.
Abasiama Idaresit, founder of Wild Fusions, discussed “mobile marketing and the changing African media landscape”.
He stressed that mobile marketing gives marketers interested in the African market several opportunities.
“It allows targeting possibility, real-time tracking, innovation among others,” he said.
He described Nigeria as Africa’s largest mobile market and advised marketers to maximize the opportunities available on mobile marketing.
Event organiser Matthew Dawes told HumanIPO prior to the conference the Focus Day was a clear indication MWWA was maturing.
