Adobe’s desktop apps, including Photoshop, previously known as Creative Suite (CS), will now be branded CC to reflect their integral part of Creative Cloud.
Adobe have said they have also been reinvented to support a more intuitive, connected way of creating.
Future products will be provided through the subscription-only Creative Cloud service. As part of this announcement, Adobe demonstrated the first version of the new Adobe Photoshop CC.
Standalone version of its Creative Suite, which bundles together 16 programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, Dreamweaver and Premiere, would be frozen at version 6, but will still be available but not be upgraded.
Adobe’s subscription plan is US$19.99 per month for a single piece of software and US$49.95 per month for access to all of its software, plus updates.
Existing CS3-5 customers can get the complete Creative Cloud for US$29.99 per month for the first year and CS6 for US$19.99 per month.
There’s separate pricing tiers for businesses and education, with the education plan at US$19.99 per month for the first year and US$29.99 per month after that.
Discounts would be available for those that signed up before 31 July, Adobe said.
Adobe also announced Creative Cloud for enterprise today and special licensing programs for educational institutions and government.
