Google could be about to launch a new interface for its mapping services after a blog displayed screenshots appearing to unveil its new look.
Google has yet to respond to the images posted on the unofficial Google Operating System blog.
According to the blog the screenshots point to serious modifications in the redesigned version of Google Maps.
If true the search giant is ditching the sidebar in favour of more emphasis on the map itself with information such as location data and photos now transferred to a card on the left hand corner.
According to the screenshots the traditional yellow streets are also missing.
Cards have also featured on the revamped Google Play Store, on Android, where individual app and song listings are placed in cards although they are yet to feature on desktops.
It has been rumoured a desktop version is on the way.
Many expect the new Google Maps will be unveiled at next week’s Google I/O conference in San Francisco.
