The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has launched a new website to improve its services to customers.
The new TRA website is designed to meet the needs of customers with clear labelling, simpler navigation, easy access to the main taxes and duties and a direct route to online transactions.
According to Harry Kitilya, the TRA director general, the new website will improve customer service and facilitate quicker payments, reported The Citizen.
“Citizens will be able to ask questions and receive responses within 24 hours. This way, we will enhance our efficiency in tax collection as well as improve the national income significantly,” he said.
The TRA expects to collect TZS8 trillion (US$44 billion) in taxes in the current financial year and TZS9.88 trillion (US$54 billion) in revenues on the next budget estimate.
