LinkedIn is celebrating its 10 years in business this week, with its co-founder saying he is “honoured and humbled” by the effect it has had on people’s professional lives.
In a blog post co-founder Reid Hoffman described how he came up with LinkedIn in his living room 10 years ago with the mission to connect professionals, making them more productive and successful.
He said: “At the end of our first month, we had 4,500 members in the network. 10 years later, we’re honored and humbled that so many of you have made LinkedIn a part of your daily professional lives.
Today, hundreds of millions of professionals around the world are turning to LinkedIn to connect with each other, manage their identities, get insights they need to be great at what they do, and find their dream jobs.”
The company now employs more than 3,700 people around the world.
