Google I/O hangout sessions to be streamed in Africa

Fifteen African countries will be able to view Google’s I/O conference as part of the worldwide hangouts from Wednesday, May 15.

Daily meetups from 6pm to 9pm during the conference days May 15 to May 17 will offer live screenings to attendees of the activities from the United States.

Countries in which these sessions are open include South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya with event screening taking place in the major cities.

iHub, an investor and startup technology-based organisation, will be opening its doors in Nairobi, Kenya for all interested individuals.

In Cape Town, the conference will be screened in the 88mph offices, at the Woodstock Exchange, from 5pm (SAST). Event details are here.

Attendees are encouraged to register for free online as a limited capacity is available.

Other African countries where the Google procedures will be viewable from are Tanzania, Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Ghana, Uganda, Cameroon, Ethiopia and Liberia, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt.

HumanIPO reported on the WordPress meetups, also to take place at African destinations as the open source platform’s global communities celebrate its 10th anniversary later this month.

The actual I/O will be taking place in the Moscone Center, San Francisco.

HumanIPO reported earlier this month on the expected Google Maps and Wallet updates to be revealed at the conference.

Various extensions will also held in capitals around the world, from Greenland to Chile.

“Just kick-back and relax, as Google does the magic,” the invitation states.

An I/O Android app will be available to those who want mobile updates on the progression of the event.

At the exit conference, Google will be hosting daily sessions on the goings on of Android, Chrome and Apps,YouTube and the Cloud Platform.
