Geek Girl Dinner zooms in on social entrepreneurship

The bimonthly Geek Girl Dinner in Cape Town (GGDCPT) will be enlightening attendees on the role of social entrepreneurship with Barbara Mallinson, founder of Obami, as guest speaker.

Geek Girls will be gathering at the Waterfront-based Moyo in Cape Town on May 22 to network with fellow tech-interested females in the industry.

HumanIPO reported in April on the GGDCPT event on female developers.

Mallinson will be sharing her experience of the social learning platform she created for worldwide engagement of technology, social learning and entrepreneurship.

Apart from the Cape IT Initiative and IT Hero nominations, she has also been listed as one of the “Top 200 Young People to Take to Lunch” by Mail & Guardian.

As a member of the Fifth Conference she participates in the recognition of disruptive ideas and innovation in the field of education.

Geek Girl Dinners is a worldwide initiative which gathers females (and their voluntary male counterparts) to share a passion of technology.
