Women in Technology in Nigeria (WITIN) have repeated their commitment to ensuring girls gain technical knowledge through competition and training at incubation centres.
HumanIPO reported last month on Girls in ICT Day and WITIN has since added their voice to those calling for more involvement for women in the sector.
WITIN are active when its comes to promoting technology. In February, the group launched its own mobile app challenge for girls.
Abike Dabire, a representative from Ikorodu Federal Constituency, said she is ready to collaborate with WITIN in supporting girls to participate in innovative skills which will further assist them in their development.
Dabire added she wanted to work closely with the National Assembly to come up with events promoting the involvement of girls in ICT and ways of nurturing their talents.
Martha Alade, the chairperson of WITIN, repeated her previous pledges that girls should consider taking up careers in ICT.
