Times Media Live partners with Citymob for Sunday Times ecommerce

Times Media Live and etailer Citymob have teamed up to launch the Sunday Times, Fashion Weekly with an ecommerce angle in the form of a pop-up shop and debuts this coming weekend.

“We’ve collaborated on a special May pop-up shop, whose products will be featured both on Citymob and in the Sunday Times Fashion weekly pages. We’ll be enabling ecommerce directly from our content, which is a first for our newspaper,” Bizcommunity quoted Ben Williams, head of ecommerce for the Times Media Group, as saying.

The pop-up shop will appear in the Sunday Times’ Home Weekly supplement and is currently themed “Father’s Day,” which will be accompanied by a range of male-orientated products.

Following the theme of Father’s Day, the Sunday Times plans to present a selected list of items each Sunday and the full product range will feature in a Sunday Times specific microsite within Citymob’s site.

“They’ve done a lot in a very little space of time, building a large customer base and acquiring market share that rivals some of the big players. We’re delighted to have them powering ecommerce for the Sunday Times,” said Williams.

“Selling home and fashion items is a logical extension of our mission to brighten reader’s  living spaces, from their dining rooms to their bedroom cupboards,” said Sarah Buitendach, editor of both Fashion Weekly and Home Weekly.

Times Live believes they have an advantage with their new online shopping initiative because of their successful media reach.
