The African Utility Week (AUW) conference and exhibition, which began today in Cape Town, has partnered with Channel Africa to broadcast the event live across the continent.
The flagship actuality talk show of the radio station will broadcast live from the exhibition floor both today and tomorrow and is interviewing professionals at the conference.
“Channel Africa is the perfect broadcasting partner for us as we have very similar goals,” said Claire Volkwyn, programme director of AUW.
“We have been bringing together African utilities and service providers for more than 13 years to assist the in the growth of Africa’s power sector and the continent’s electrification.”
Channel Africa is the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s (SABC) international radio station, which airs throughout most of the continent and broadcasts on the internet, satellite and shortwave.
“Channel Africa’s presence at and coverage of the African Utility Week dovetails neatly with ‘Africa Month’ celebrations during the month of May across the African continent,” said Mamolefe Segakweng, head of marketing and communications for Channel Africa.
“I believe that access to electricity for all Africans is a catalyst for economic development.”
