Samsung Galaxy S4 lands in Tanzania

Samsung has launched its new fourth generation Galaxy S4 in Tanzania, challenging Tanzanians to increase mobile penetration in the country.

Addressing the audience at the launch, Patrick Mukungu, the deputy permanent secretary in the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology, said many countries in the region have not expanded technology to villages and rural communities.

“This means therefore they are not yet benefiting from the potential of the new technology to stimulate economic growth, disseminate information and subsequently raise the standards of living,” he said.

Robert Ngeru, Samsung Electronics East Africa chief operating officer (COO) said the S4 has been designed in a simple and appealing way.

“The Samsung GALAXY S4 is slimmer yet stronger, less to hold yet more to see. It has come up with a simply unreal body. In Tanzania the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be available at Samsung shops, Airtel shops, Vodacom shops, Tigo shops and Samsung retails partners,” Ngeru said.

Kishor Kumar, Samsung Electronics Tanzania country manager, said he believed the new phone will be able to provide features like Dual Video Call and Drama Shot, a feature that allows you to see all the actions in one continuous time-lapse.
