South African crowd sourcing platform Hiring Bounty plans to expand to the United Kingdom (UK) as part of its new vertical roll out movements within the next two months.
Hiring Bounty matches local citizens with their ideal jobs, focusing on jobs in the fields of marketing, digital, IT and soon finance as well.
The platform will be launching in the UK by the end of July, aiming to improve trust in a “poor serviced” market of 3,000 to 5,000 firms, Greg Schneider, managing director at Hiring Bounty, explained.
Speaking to HumanIPO, Schneider said: “We believe it is this mistrust and frustration which makes the market perfect for a crowdsourced driven solution.”
The new market release will correspond with a relaunch of the website by the end of June, marking its progress from beta phase.
“We are currently in talks with some big corporates, but obviously also expect jobs from smaller businesses as well,” Scheinder said, referring to its incorporation of positions in the financial sector by mid-June.
Further new ventures include the escalation of social media presence integration and enhanced user experience (UX) features.
Social media engagement will soon be visible on a side-situated dashboard with LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook feeds.
Marked with a ‘bounty’ label, vacancies are handled through referral rather than following traditional recruitment methods.
Friend-based referrals which lead to appointments are rewarded with mutual bounty payments, aiming at higher network leverage.
“The business concept is based on the premise that referrals produce better candidates than traditional recruitment options, and there is a nice incentive as well (the bounty) for leveraging your network,” the company explained.
Nikki Cockroft,head of online at Woolworths, commented on her experience with the service: “I’m excited about how Hiring Bounty can help us in our continual quest for the best talent.”
Cockroft expressed her surprise at the low cost success with which quality candidates were recruited in an efficient manner.
Hiring Bounty launched last year in August.
