The United States (US) government has given Amazon security clearance, enabling cheaper and swifter services to federal agencies.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is now a certified cloud service provider to all US-based data centres.
Teresa Carlson, vice president of worldwide public sector at AWS, told Reuters: “This will cut the cost and time for agencies to deploy our systems.”
Certified for three years, the accreditation will provide functional as part of the FedRAMP governmental programme.
The programme was launched to authorise and standardise cloud service assessment.
Singular approval of the AWS system will enable multiple projects without further required permission.
HumanIPO reported earlier this month on the Amazon launch of digital credit.
