Samsung has sold more than 10 million Galaxy S4 smartphone less than a month after the handset debuted, making it the company’s fastest selling smartphone to date.
The company said the S4′s predecessor the S3 hit the 10 million mark sales 50 days after its 2012 launch, with S2 and GS taking five and seven months respectively.
In a statement, Samsung said: ”It’s worth noting that hitting this milestone doesn’t necessarily mean that there are 10 million Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone’s in the hands of consumers, as Samsung announced the number of units shipped to retailers and operators.”
Samsung chief executive officer (CEO) JK Shin said: “On behalf of Samsung, I would like to thank the millions of customers around the world who have chosen the Samsung Galaxy S4. At Samsung we’ll continue to pursue innovation inspired by and for people.”
Samsung had revealed that it is selling roughly four S4s per second worldwide.
