Information Communication Technology (ICT) will change Liberia, according to a minister, with new graduates set to provide technical administrative competencies to the country.
Frederick Norkeh, the Minister for Post and Telecommunications, told the graduation ceremony for 15 IT professionals that young people developing skills in ICT could help transform the country.
“Not disillusioned by the hurdles such as the lack of an enabling environment and incentive to induce passion, they have also taken additional steps to acquire another level of technical and administrative competence as IT professionals in their service to our nation,” Norkeh said.
“The challenge is ours collectively, as Liberians, to make the difference in our governance practices without taking such ownership; intervention by our development partners will not yield the needed results.”
Norkeh added that IT will assist in setting measures to execute ICT policy and also put in place a strong basis for future developments in public sectors and quality service.
