Google has updated its Android Calendar app and introduced a new inbox for Gmail which arranges new mails in tabs.
The Calendar update sets a custom colour for a calendar or event, giving users the ability to customise event and calendar colours.
The service is available for Android 4.1 devices and Google gives 24 ranges of colours. The update makes the adding of events easier, customising timezones. Events can be scheduled to repeat in intervals such as weeks, months and years.
Google is also pushing forward with an app design language for Calendar and has updated the time and date picker with additional functionality.
Meanwhile, Gmail has introduced a new inbox that arranges new mails in five tabs, namely Primary, which includes messages from people contacted regularly, Social for social media updates, Promotion for adverts and deals, Updates for bills and notifications and Forum, which includes mailing lists and online groups.
“The new inbox will put you back in control of your network,” Google said.
Also available for Gmail’s Android and iOS apps, the new inbox will be available to users in a few weeks.
