Online retailer Amazon is taking pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, stamping a price of £599.99 (US$908) price tag on each.
The Microsoft Xbox One console launched last week, while Sony announced the PlayStation 4 back in February.
An Amazon disclaimer, however, explains the prices are placeholders and that customers will be charged the lower price if it changes between now and launch.
The disclaimer further advised purchaser they would not have to pay any money until the hardware starts shipping.
“Please note that there are no official prices announced for Xbox One [and Playstation 4] products,” the disclaimer said
“The price stated above is a placeholder. With our Pre-order Price Guarantee, you can order now and if the Amazon.co.uk price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you’ll be charged the lowest price.”
Both next generation games consoles are expected to go on sale before the end of this year.
