COSATU’s drive-slow 300 cars strong

Approximately 300 vehicles participated in the Congress of South African Trade Union’s (COSATU) “drive-slow” protest action against e-tolling in Gauteng on Friday.

“I think there’s about 300. So far so good, our target was 100 and we’ve exceeded that, it shows the level of support we have,” News24 quoted Dumisani Dakile, Gauteng provincial secretary for COSATU, as saying.

HumanIPO reported on Friday the South Gauteng High Court on Thursday granted COSATU permission to commence with its “drive-slow” protest action against e-tolling on the N12, N3, R24 and R21 freeways in Johannesburg.

The motorcade was reportedly on the R24 in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, at around midday.

The Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SACBC) joined COSATU and a number of other motorists for the protest.
