Microsoft Global president Jean Philippe Courtois was expected to land in Kenya at the weekend with a hefty programme ahead of him.
According to Microsoft’s official communication department the president is expected to meet media at the iHub on Tuesday.
Among the various projects Courtois will be inspecting include the white space pilot project with the Kenyan Ministry of Information and Communication and Indigo Telecom, termed Mawingu.
The project is aimed at delivering low-cost, high-speed wireless broadband and creating new opportunities for commerce, education, healthcare and delivery of government services across Kenya.
Apart from the Mawingu project the company is also involved in various projects including Huawei 4Afrika, a low cost smartphone device running on the Windows operating system, that has been launched in the country and and the Africa academy, an education platform leveraging online and offline learning tools, to help Africans develop both technical and business skills for entrepreneurship and improved employability.
