The Tanzanian government has introduced the Computer Emergency Response System Team (CERT) to curb cybercrimes.
Daily News reports Prof Makame Mbarawa, the minister for communication, science and technology said during the presentation of 2013/2014 budget the government is working hard to ensure communications are well protected through a new law which intends to incorporate data Protection, electronic transactions and cybercrime.
Mbarawa also said plans for the Smart ICT Village project scheduled to be established in either Kigamboni or Bagamoyo Export Processing Zone (EPZ) is still underway.
“Among others, this smart ICT village will be equipped with all necessary infrastructures including state-of-the-art premises to attract investors and entrepreneurs to conduct their business there,” he said.
