Web-based platform Jobs In Nigeria has recorded more than 100,000 downloads within a year of the app being introduced as a beta phase product.
Jobs In Nigeria aggregates all job postings from major Nigerian job sites, and the app is compatible with Nokia, BlackBerry and Android phones with users also access from a desktop.
In an exclusive interview with HumanIPO, co-founder Tayo Olufuwa said in addition to the impressive number of downloads, the app has more than 60,000 registered users and a recent survey showed more than 200 users had obtained jobs from the platform.
HumanIPO reported yesterday Olufuwa believed one of the problems holding back the job market in Nigeria was the lack of mobile optimised sites for job seekers.
The app has also been revealed as official job board for the Entrepreneurship and Career Fair 2013 organised by the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
Through the partnership, he said they “plan to make more youth involved in career development and entrepreneurship”.
He also told HumanIPO plans are underway to develop Windows 8 (mobile and desktop) versions of the app for an app developers’ competition.
