An independent interactive online pharmacy store has gone live in South Africa, aiming to take non-prescription products to the public.
The site, healthchcart.co.za, carries healthcare products including vitamins and diet pills, as well as items for infant care.
Paul Cook, chief executive officer (CEO) of Healthcart, said: “The consumer healthcare market (in Africa) is booming and we are excited about giving everyone access to great healthcare products at the best prices.”
The venture is financed by Silvertree Capital and founding partner Manuel Koser, who resigned from e-commerce site Zando.co.za in March, said: “We are excited about the growth of e-commerce in both South Africa and the rest of Africa, and the motivated Healthcart.co.za team is encouraging us to expand our vision.”
The site offers free delivery on orders of more than ZAR500 (US$50) and includes products from brands include Dove, Colgate and Nivea.
