Dina Pule’s spin doctor Wisani Ngobeni is claiming the burglary of his house was connected to his role at South Africa’s Department of Communications (DoC).
Ngobeni, who has been heavily involved in the ongoing row between communications minister Pule and the Sunday Times newspaper, said laptops and bags containing documents had been stolen from his home in Bloemfontein, but high value items such as his television and HD camera remained.
Ngobeni said: “I’m being intimidated. I’ve been getting funny calls, but I didn’t take them seriously. Since Sunday, I have been receiving them. Now it makes sense that these calls and the burglary could be related,” reported the South African Press Agency.
HumanIPO reported last month the Press Council had rejected Ngobeni’s request to investigate the Sunday Times, before the Press Ombudsman later approved a similar submission from Ngobeni.
Ngobeni said he had reported the incident to the police and a case had been opened.
