The Kenyan police says crime incidents in the country reduced by 10 per cent between January and May this year, partly due to the installation of high definition closed-circuit (CCTV) cameras.
Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo told Kenya Television Network (KTN): “Crime in the first quarter of the year has decreased.” He added that the CCTV cameras had contributed towards this reduction.
Kimaiyo said the police force will implement measures to increase security in crime prone areas, including restoring CCTV cameras.
“The force will put in place a crime management property through restoration on the CCTV cameras most specifically in most of the prone or crime prone areas,” he said.
