Vodacom presented with most innovative use of mobility award

Vodacom has been presented with the “most innovative use of mobility” award at the Enterprise Mobility Forum (EMF) awards event.

The Enterprise Mobility Forum awards event was set up with the intention of honouring outstanding practice within the field of mobility.

The award event, held on Thursday last week, also sought to recognise individuals and companies, which were actively behind changing business through implementing mobile solutions.

Vodacom was presented with the award for assisting Nompilo Solution, a project aimed at mobile and the monitoring of healthcare in Africa.

The project also made improvements to measurable and affordable healthcare for the population of the continent.

Businesses face the challenge of balancing the benefits and risks of mobile enterprise and the issues surrounding the “bring your own device” (BYOD) trend.

Businesses are also faced with compliance and cost issues involving the mobile workforce.

Evaluating the impact, assessing the trends, and finding solutions to enterprise mobility was the primary focus of the EMF.

Eskom won two of the three categories it was nominated for, which included best ROI (return on investment) and was also named the best at deploying mobility solutions.

Deon Maritz, sales systems manager at Kraft Foods, was lauded for the adoption of best practice in implementing mobility technology.

The awards were sponsored by Samsung South Africa and were judged by board members part of the Enterprise Mobility Network.
