Emmanouil Revmatas, director of hand held products at Samsung Electronics West Africa, has revealed mobile devices are fast becoming the fulcrum upon which lives revolve.
This, he said, is in addition to increased yearning for unlimited and unrestricted access to more contents including features and activities such as mobile games, videos and music.
Revmatas was speaking at the unveiling of the new affordable youth-focused Galaxy Star smartphone. He noted Samsung is aware of the ongoing transformation in consumer habits and patterns.
“At Samsung, we understand that consumer habits and consumption patterns are changing, thus, we are providing our consumers with the opportunity to own a device with features of a high-end smartphone at a much lower cost,” he said.
He described the new device as offering superior value as a result of its unique features and designs.
He said: “The Galaxy Star is a device that provides superior value to consumers based on its features, intuitive performance and design. We want more and more feature phone users to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy Star smartphones.”
The device supports two SIM cards, has A5 1GHz processor and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system. It also comes with a three-inch touchscreen, two megapixel camera, 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory.
