Abuja will host the Nigerian Internet Governance Forum (NIGF) on June 18, in a bid to connect domestic stakeholders in the cyber world.
Organised by the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA), speakers will include the NiRA president Mary Uduma, communications technology minister Omobola Johnson and Ernest Ndukwe, chairman of Openmedia Communications.
Through the forum Uduma said the organisers will share productive ideas, best practices and experiences that could be instrumental in solving critical national challenges.
“The outcome of NIGF 2013 would engender viable alternative opportunities that best address the nation’s most critical national and internet issues, while simultaneously promoting the nation’s position at the global IGF taking place from 22 to 25 October 2013 in Bali, Indonesia,” Uduma said.
She added that it would also serve as the common platform that would allow local stakeholders to contribute to global internet governance forum.
