MTN Ghana has agreed to collaborate with the national government in tackling the frequent fibre cuts which disrupt telecom services.
The issue of fibre cuts in Ghana was expressed as a concern by Omane Boamah, minister of communications, during his visit to the Tetteh Quarshie Operation Switch and Data Centre of MTN-Ghana Limited in Accra.
HumanIPO reported yesterday on the construction of Ghana’s latest optic fibre network.
In response, Michael Ikpoki, managing director of MTN-Ghana, announced MTN’s readiness to partner with the Ghanaian government in addressing the challenges.
Boamah declared the issue a “great concern to national security,” Ghana News Agency reported.
The problem of fibre cuts was referred to as a major challenge at a recent Ministry of Communication meeting.
Boamah paid a visit to MTN as part of a tour of mobile operators with the purpose to gather direct information on operations.
