Apple have added an events channel to their TV screens and a link on their website to allow people to stream today’s keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The WWDC 2013 keynote address will be broadcast using Apple’s industry HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards, from 10am Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).
Viewing requires Safari on iOS 4.2 or later on any iPhone, iPad, iPad mini or iPod touch, Safari 4 or later on Mac® OS X® v10.6 or later.
Streaming via Apple TV requires second or third generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later. The channel is temporary and will be available from the beginning at 1pm Eastern,10am Pacific.
Today’s WWDC 2013 keynote is expected to be on iOS 7, Apple’s next-generation mobile operating system for iPhone and iPad.
Apple will also show OSX 10.9, its next major release for its Mac operating system.
New Macs, with a refresh of Apple’s MacBook Air lineup, are also expected to be discussed.
The latest notebooks are expected to receive Intel’s latest-generation Haswell processors, as well as new dual microphones that will aid in voice recognition.
The Events channel appeared in October last year ahead of Apple’s iPad mini event. In addition the keynote presentation was also viewable on Mac and iOS devices.
