MTN Business Kenya has re-launched its internet protocol (IP)-based communication, which allows for seamless integration of both desktop and mobile phone.
“The IP telephony service enables the client to transfer all calls whether fixed or mobile while roaming charges are also reduced as users can make calls at local rates,” said Tom Omariba, managing director of MTN Business Kenya during a client breakfast at Nairobi’s Serena Hotel.
“For local corporates, there is no need to still incur call costs with the availability of this solution.”
The Managed IP PBX service, first used in the country in 2011, is a fully outsourced cloud solution and MTN has invested in it to allow for integration with clients’ equipment.
Raphael Mulei, a pre-sales engineer at MTN Business Kenya, said: “This means that clients do not need to make any additional capital investments to acquire the IP PBX. It is ideal for people who are constantly on the move and away from their desks, but need to be in touch with office operations.”
Other features of the service include call forwarding, call pick-up for unanswered calls, parallel ringing feature, and voice-to-email service which forwards voice messages to the recipient’s email account.
“The service runs on per second billing and bills can be generated according to the client’s specific demand and request. It is also possible to allocate credit limits per user,” added Mulei.
The IP PBX is compatible with smartphones, PCs and tablets.
