Surfline Limited, one of three companies to be awarded a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) licence in Ghana in February, has reportedly commissioned an Indian business to set-up and manage its services for US$20 million.
The Hindu Business Line is reporting Tech Mahindra will manage IT for Surfline Limited’s future services, although there has been no official confirmation.
Surfline was awarded a licence by the National Communications Authority (NCA) for ten years along with GoldKey Properties Limited and G-Kwiknet Limited. They were picked from nine applications.
Tech Mahindra already operate in Ghana by supporting Bharti Airtel’s call-centres across the continent.
HumanIPO reported last week work was underway on Ghana’s Eastern Corridor Fibre Optic Backbone network which will plant 800km of cable.
