Motorola Business is planning to embark on an expansion across Africa, having already established itself as the “leading growth vendor” on the continent, according to general manager of Westcon Mobility for pan emerging Africa John Spreadborough.
At the official announcement of Motorola’s product expansion in Lagos, Spreadborough said the company was looking to continue the progress it had already made in Africa.
“Our Motorola business is now the leading growth vendor in Africa in this space, we are planning expansion across all our territories to support the Motorola growth. We have the best positioned vendor in the mobility business, and we are proud to associate with the best vendor in this business,” Spreadborough said.
Also speaking at the event, Carlos Ferraz, general manager of Motorola Solutions Enterprise in Africa, said Nigeria’s developing sector would benefit from the company’s expansion.
“Motorola Solutions is positioned to serve as a strategic partner of the growing Nigerian business sector, supplying the widest lines of products, including new Psion devices, Wi-Fi systems and many others innovative products,” Ferraz said.
Westcon Africa has been appointed to market and distribute Motorola Solutions’ products, which include rugged mobile computers and enterprise class smartphones, advanced mobile scanning and imaging solutions and a robust line of barcode scanners and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) readers. The company will also be making available its Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) solution for businesses in Nigeria and beyond.
