Facebook is reportedly in discussions with Samsung Electronics in an effort to build advertising sales from mobile devices.

Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive officer (CEO) of Facebook, has met with Shin Jong Kyun, president of Samsung, in the electronic company’s head offices in Seoul, South Korea.

The state of the information technology industry was on the discussion agenda, Bloomberg reported.

Zuckerberg, who is making an effort to boost mobile activity on Facebook, declined to comment on the outcomes of the meeting.

Easy access social media software for smartphones was revealed by the Facebook founder in April.

Through the Home software, sharing photos, messages and status updates are accessible from mobile devices’ home screen.

In a meeting with Park Geun Hye, president of South Korea, Zuckerberg discussed the promotion of technology startups.

With a keen interest in using Facebook as a platform for startups, he told Hye he planned to heighten his Asian investments, a statement on her website revealed.

These meetings followed appointments with Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft, and Larry Page, chief executive officer of Google, in April.
