Tanzanian network operator Tigo has partnered with Huawei to launch the Ascend Y300, running on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform.
The handset has a 4-inch display, a 1GHz dual-core processor and targets social network user market.
Zhang Yong Quan, Huawei Tanzania‘s managing director, described the device as a powerful smartphone with a low cost that will make it more popular and affordable.
“We are pleased to once again partner with Tigo Tanzania and are confident that this innovation driven partnership will grow substantially and yield more innovative solutions,” Quan said.
Tigo’s broadband manager Benedict Mponzi said Tigo was proud to partner with Huawei Technologies in giving Tanzanians a great innovative experience and added more people are becoming tech savvy and smartphones are therefore becoming important tools of communication.
