Khayashopping to launch in August

Zimbabwean trading company Khayashopping will be launching its online service soon, becoming the first of its kind in the country.

Already established as a physical shop in the Westgate Shopping Centre in Harare, Khayashopping plans to launch its e-commerce services in multiple African destinations.

Kicking off in Zimbabwe, a launch in August for South Africa will be followed by similar campaigns in Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Ghana and Nigeria.

Speaking to HumanIPO, Blessing James, operations director at Khayashopping, said: “The shop is already open, but the launch date we are working on setting it up, it will be very exciting as we have a lot of activities lined up for launch.”

Khayashopping sells a broad variety of products, ranging from smartphones and laptops to beauty products and gadgets, which will be separated into store subdivisions of cosmetics and electronics.

“We mainly speciali[se with] the lifestyle products at the moment, but as we continue to promote online business, we will be looking forward to be Africa’s Amazon or Wallmart,” James said.

With a pre-launch campaign running currently from April, online shoppers will be eligible for a 30 per cent discount.

The Zimbabwe summer launch will offer many activities to its attendees, with the support of a local artist who attracts attention with social media engagement.

“Since online shopping is not that popular here, we will make so much noise on all social media platforms so that when we announce the launch everyone will want to be involved,” James said.

As the only local e-commerce service in Zimbabwe, Khayashopping offers countrywide delivery with plans to cater for special days, such as Mother’s Day, where direct delivery will be available to the comfort of the consumer.
