The organisers of Web Summit have launched the Alpha Program, which will pick 10 startups every week to have the chance to showcase their business to investors at its conference in Dublin, in October.
The creators of the Summit include founders of companies such as Twitter, Netflix, Skype and YouTube.
Their next conference is on October 30 and 31, with the cost of an exhibition place normally costing around US$10,000.
Paddy Cosgrave said the programme from the founders of the global tech giants is a way of saying thank you and searching for the next big ideas.
“Alpha is our little thank you to the next wave of incredible startups that perhaps one day will become the next Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or Workday,” Cosgrave said in a statement on thewebsite.
“We never like give too much away in terms of what type of an experience you can expect at Alpha. You just need to know that we don’t disappoint.”
Successful startups will however need still need to pay the normal US$495 conference attendance fee and pay for their own travel. Startups can apply here.
