South African music platform Kasimp3 increased its unique visitor numbers from 279,000 in April to 500,000 in June according to the latest figures released by the company.
At the same time the platform says that it has seen increased number of artists from across the globe publish their songs through Kasimp3 to hit an all time high of 50,000 music artists with South Africa and Nigeria holding the biggest share.
As a result of the increased traffic and downloads the company says it has been able to promote up and coming music artists as well as pay more royalties.
Mokgethwa Mapaya, Kasimp3 founder, said the company takes copyright issues seriously and is asking musicians with various takedown request to raise it with them.
“We encourage copyright owners to send us their DMCA takedown requests, as it is within their rights to do so as provided by the law. We will treat every case as an urgent matter,” he said.
The company adds that it has constituted various back-end upgrades to stop the illegal uploads of unlicensed music.
Kasimp3 say they have a zero tolerance to music piracy and they say have never received a copyright
