Nigerian President to visit Huawei

Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan will be visiting technology companies which have made West African investments during his visit to China.

Huawei and ZTE will be visited by the president, Reuben Abati, special advisor to the president on media and publicity, confirmed.

Both enterprises have an important stake in Nigeria’s smartphone and wireless market.

“The president will leave Abuja next Monday for a five-day state visit to China and he is expected to hold separate meetings with the chairmen and chief executive officers of Huawei and ZTE,” Abati said.

Jonathan will also take part in the Investment Forum session on Nigeria and China, to be attended by Chinese investors and Nigerian partners.

The signing of agreements are expected to follow, securing further relations between China and Nigeria.

Further negotiations about the countries’ public infrastructure development will be discussed during a scheduled appointment with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Kegiang and Standing Committee chairman of the National People’s Congress Zhange Dejihag.

Cooperation in the industries of oil, gas, power supply, agriculture, communication and tourism will be on the agenda.
